Salmon Ladder

 

One of the most upper body demanding, explosive, and treacherous obstacles of all is the salmon ladder. It required competitors to use their plyometric strength and explosively pull-up lifting a bar up a series of rungs. Made famous through American Ninja Warrior where it has been present in nearly every single competition, the salmon ladder has taken down some of the greatest in the sport including Youuji Urushihara and Brent Steffenson.

Vertical Limit

 

Regarded by American Ninja Warrior veteran Joe Moravsky as the most difficult obstacle in all of American Ninja Warrior, the Vertical Limit is a 1cm thick ledge 14 feet long (less than a fingernail in thickness). Competitors must traverse this obstacle from the tips of their fingertips. Learn how you can train, build, and compete on the epitome of grip strength.

Unstable Bridge

 

This tricky second stage obstacle may appear easy, but it has repeatedly taken down several strong competitors on American Ninja Warrior. It consists of two horizontal planks of wood, the first secured at four points, and the second at only two, so that it tilts side to side as competitors inch across handing from their fingers.
